This blog is no longer being updated. Anna Dixon left the Department of Health in August 2015 to become Chief Executive of the Centre for Ageing Better.
Anna Dixon joined the Department of Health in May 2013 as Chief Analyst and Director of Strategy. Her responsibilities are to support evidence-based decision-making, provide strategic direction to the health and care system working closely with partners, and enable the voice of patients, users and citizens to inform policy and strategic direction.
She is committed to promoting the use of evidence and analysis as an integral part of the policy making process. She also seeks to bring fresh thinking and clear analysis of the strategic issues facing the health and care system drawing on international experiences as well as insights from other sectors and the frontline of care.
In this blog Anna will be sharing her insights, stories and personal reflections on some of the interesting developments in research and practice and how these can help address the big strategic issues that face the health and care system.
